For publishing a video on TikTok wearing a police uniform: Aya Ibrahim is imprisoned in Case 910 of 2021 State Security on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and misusing social media

Share Facebook Twitter Email WhatsApp On June 23, 2021, EFHR monitored that the Supreme State Security Prosecution (SSSP) imprisoned Aya Ibrahim Yahya Muhammad (22 years old – works in a beauty centre) on case No. 910/2021, and the Public Prosecution charged her with joining a terrorist group and spreading false news and misusing social media, on a background of posting a video of her wearing a police uniform on TikTok, on the background music of a popular festivals song. Aya was arrested on June 21, 2021, from her home in Madinaty, New Cairo. Then she was taken to the National Security headquarters in the Fifth Settlement Police Station and asked by the officers there about the video and how she got the police suit that she wore in the video clip. After two days of detention, Aya appeared in the Supreme State Security Prosecution and was accused of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.
